Dr. Kelly recalls, “I was introduced to oral and maxillofacial surgery by my scoutmaster.  It was fascinating then – and still is today.  I have always loved working with my hands.  My parents bought me real tools as a young child and I have had one in my hands of one kind or another since.”  He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Utah, in his native home of Salt Lake City.  After graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Louisville - School of Dentistry he completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Gundersen-Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Dr. Kelly is Board Certified with the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.  He is also a Diplomate of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology.   The part of dentistry that truly appeals to Dr. Kelly is patient care.  He says, “I have a passion for my patients and want them to know they can reach me anytime they need to.  They make my day, and I try everything I can do to make them feel comfortable.”  He also finds the procedures in oral surgery to be exciting and rewarding.   He notes that some, such as wisdom tooth removal and jaw surgery, are essential, while others, such as dental implants, help people to function and look better, as well as live more confident lives.

He and his wife Kara live in Gilbert with their four children.  He enjoys running, golf, softball, waterskiing, church, and spending time with his family.  He recognizes that his “wife has been a strength to me throughout training” and “having four children is a constant reminder to prioritize life and maintain clear perspective.”

Dr. Kelly has been honored as a "Top Dentist" by Phoenix Magazine since 2008.
